I haven't been able to access the gallery for a year or more. Has it been closed or disabled or restricted?

Disabled. Basically - afaik - it's become too much of strain on server resources.

(I personally despise using the "search is your friend/read the faq" mantras, but there are quite a number of threads on the subject, within the last 2 pages of the General, Railpage, and Lounge forums.)

Yeah so much for getting rid of fang! At least when fang was around the Gallery was able to be viewed! Take the Loaded Dogs comments on board and buy some server space and we can all pay a small amount for the privilage. I have said before If membership will fix the problem and we get a better result then lets do it! I won't donate money now while the rest tag along on these contributions. Just my dollars worth. Try putting it to a vote!

The reason the gallery isn't working has nothing to do with the server it's on. It's got everything to do with the fact that it doesn't like PHP5, and that overall it's a piece of crap.

What is needed is a Pop-up banner to appear on this page, flashing the message :

Congratulations !!!

You are the 1000th person to ask about the return of the Image Gallery !!!

A couple of what I consider to be sensible suggestions:

  1. When one clicks on a link to the defunct gallery they are presented with a page explaining the absence of the gallery
  2. Remove all links to the defunct gallery

Hopefully this will end the posting of queries regarding the demise of the gallery.
