Is there anywhere you and find out the hight of Train Stations above sea level?

I am doing a bit a reserch and am trying to find out what the hight of the stations are along the newcastle route.

Used to be on all stations didn't it? I can recall it at Normanhurst.

There's a few left in the bush of course: Thirlmere, Guyra etc.

I have looked at www.nswrail.net Nothing on what I need.

I have not seen the posted signs on a cityrail station for a long time
(only a few on the lithgow line still have them)

Off the top of my head Mount Kuringai and Gordon still has the height above sea level on the station,

I remember some stations on the north shore line had the height above sea level on the station

Kotara 40.5m
Adamstown 15.8m
Broadmeadow 7.3m
Hamilton 5.7m
Wickham 2.1m
Civic 1.3m

thats a good start, well I whould like to know all from sydney terminal right through to newy. but anything you got is a great help

In the public timetables around the 1970s, the height above sea level was listed together with mileage.

Suggest getting copy from ARHS archives section at 67 Renwick Street, Redfern.

Try spelling 'hight' correctly and Google might be more helpful Razz

I'm looking at the 1961 Local Appendix to the Working Time Table (Northern Division) and it lists many things (mileage, length of platform, designation of employee in charge, loading banks, etc) but not height above sea level. The 1977 LA has the same information except measurement are metric, not imperial Smile
