I'm sorry if this wasn't the most appropriate way to ask the question, but I read something in the RP3 development forum about people wanting FANG back.

But what was it, and what did it do?

(Also, self congrats on my 500th post. *claps twice*)

Fang was the old server. Basically, It went down often and it was ready to have a hard disk failure at any moment. Now, the servers have been upgraded, and people want Fang back because the site was fast. But with the new server, the site is slow. That is basically the reason why people want it back. MGH™ says the site should be faster with RP3, because RP2 has old, inefficient code.

I'm back after a few months away!

What people fail to realise is that the new server isn't the problem. I've been saying from day one that the new server is a heap better than the old one.

It's the database server that has the problems, just as it was when Fang was around.

You do know that people these days only believe what they see, hence they see a slow website and blame whats physically operating it (with the exclusion of their uber-1337 486 sx haxor boxen of course)

There's a new one available, I'm (still...) waiting on a username and password to get into it before I decide if it'll be suitable for the job.
