Running today anyway:

21/2/08
Patricks GM27/4471 from Yennora
Patricks 4906/4903 from Sandown
Southern & Silverton 442s2 from Leightonfield
Ind. Rail 4458/4703 push-pull from Minto.

Other notable combinations:

8221/8209/GL111/8137
8226/8110/GL105
EL61/4514

I also saw 8203 leading a coalie, we haven't seen that for a bit Smile

I'm mostly opening this topic so we can share our sightings re the motive power on the trip trains, as sometimes you get some combinations that are more/less interesting to some of us. I'm mostly interested in what is in front of the Leightonfield train, for example.

Cheers!

Your first sighting would have been PPL (Partick PortLink) not South Spur (SSRS) Wink .

Cheers

Ah, thanks for that CJ. I knew it was a Patricks Service, but wasn't sure who provided the crews as the lead loco was the GM in the SSR livery Smile.

Have CFCLA taken it back and leased it to Patricks?

Today at Botany between 6pm and 7pm saw 4703/1334/1335 leading a long container train from Cooks River (or perhaps from somewhere else, but it shunted Cooks River), and 442s2 was seen leading the Leightonfield train back out of Botany.

You would be the first person that came to mind - I was chilling in the shade, and I hear the grunt of a train coming from Enfield. Ah, bugger it, it's not going to be anything but coal, so I only moved at the last minute, just to get the trailing shots as they went around the bend. "Ahh, damn, it's 8203", so I managed a couple of... shall we say it... "specially" composed photos of the loco leading the train.

This maybe just a little too late but I've only gotten around to it now on a cound of getting up to other Gunzel Adventures in the last two days (one begin the RP outing).

On Tuesday (22/04), Mostly Tempe But!:

Campsie:

1144 - DN 8103/8110 Stone from Dunmore (9132)

Past 1541 at Dulwich Hill with C503 and 442s2. Saw then again on Wednesday at Morriset (on the RP outing) running early on 4142 out of Sandgate. Is SS&S Picking it up their game?

Marrickville:

1156 - DN 8239/8228/8110/8129 PN Coal (BB87)

Around 1230, I moved onto Tempe and as my train round the curve towards Sydenham, B65/B61 and T??? came out of the Botany Goods Line which at that point I felt like vomitting Mad . Then I brussed it off and looked forward to seeing the late running ARG from Nowra. So I'm not going to argue with that.

Tempe:

1330 - DN 8236/GL111/GL106 PN Coal (CA64)
1417 - UP KL81/KL80/2201 ARG Containers from Nowra (9182)
1420 - DN 8159/8148 Stone to Dunmore (1933)

Marrickville:

1456 - UP MZ1435/4703 IRA to Botany (4168)
1412 - UP KL81/KL80/2201 ARG Containers from Nowra after turning at Enfield (9182)

On interesting note, after I left Marrickville and made for Campsie to get the bus home, I saw 4827 with two XPT trailers heading back to Meeks Rd. Then I started wondering if it was cheaper for Railcorp to run 48s of PacNat or one of the 48s of there own? Was an Interesting sight to see. Wish I stuck around Marrickville a little longer but I just wanted to go home.

Just off my notes Smile

42105 was moving set of container wagons into different location into Yennora before GM22 & GM27 arrived around 1:40pm awaiting entry with another load of containers from Port Botany.

A couple of interesting sightings today that (of course), I couldn't get photos of as I was wandering around:

PPL 4514 running a short train of empty container flats to (I assume) Sandown. Normally see two or three EL's on this movement, which usually conveys loaded container flats, and forms an evening PPL train (west or north, depending on the day(?)) after shunting at Sandown.

Also saw double SSRS C Class in the new colours running light engine towards Enfield. Of course, I thought this meant a no show of 1541 for sure, but it rolled through behind C/T/C a short time later.

Finally, T182, still with the double 49's was unusually late - didn't go through until close to midday, and caught me completely off balance. Even dodgy bros got into Botany before they did!
