I've heard rumour that Majorie is currently in a bad-way due to a bit of over-loading so to speak.

I was wondering whether there was any truth to this, and if so, how bad of a condition is she currently in.

A friend told me that once when he visited Richmond Vale he observed Marjorie come into the platform and she hit the other train standing there so hard that she was derailed. Dosnt sound like the way to look after the loco long term. She certainly seems to get driven hard.

From what I have been told, from numerous sources via PM, she won't be running again for a long while...

I heard a while ago from one of the drivers up there, that her pistons were on the way out and her arches, hot box were in trouble too.

Another loco i have heard for years now being worked on Razz
Would be great to get another steamer going out there though
Cause from the looks of it, it will be 30, the ex BHP 54 diesel and the small planet diesel they have.

I understand the first bit, but I'm having trouble comprehending what you mean by "...and her arches, hot box were in trouble". Can you please explain this a bit better?

To explain:

- Rear right box keeps running hot, found that the frames are bent. At this stage she's on jacks pending a decision on what's to be done.
- Pistons, arches? General wear and tear, she is often driven fairly hard (drwaddles put your pants back on...) on the run to Leggetts Drive.

And an aside? No steam at RVR for Steamfest this year. I think this could well be the first event where (at SMR or RVR) there hasn't been a 10 Class in steam. A real shame.

They have been working on Kathleen for years. I don't expect to see it going any time soon. It went there on loan from the RTM about twenty years ago.

Bad handling of a working steam loco is inexcusable in a preservation society. They are not a play thing for the privileged few.

IF frames have been bent (a sign of bad handling) backsides need to be kicked, and those individuals should be banned from footplate duties.

Members should be asking very hard questions to their board at their next AGM.

Well Marjorie and Kathleen are being given attention....consider poor Alison

I would love to give her some TLC personally as she would be the perfect female......Just sits there and looks good and I wouldnt hear a thing out of her Very Happy

But with all the re-organising of things it maybe on the back burner. Crying or Very sad

On Sunday I went round to Richi loco sheds to have a look at things, but I am not able to comment on anything or show any photos.
I've have made mistakes to the museum in the past posting stuff on Richi and getting a warning or two, last thing I want to to lose my membership so I can't talk about Richi stuff on here sorry guys. For the sake of keeping my membership going to the day I die.

Have you been consuming poor quality water? Your Syntax and Grammar are not conclusive with any language I know of as I cannot understand what you are trying to say.

However I assume that you know about something and do not wish to say anything about the subject?

Please confirm if I am indeed correct.
