hi i love making tracks on trs 2006 but im terrible at doing the scenery and terrain ect . so i was wondering if anyone new some sites were you could download some nice terrain with scenery and everything just not the tracks and buildings

If it helps, what I normally do, is lay out the entire track layout first, test it (signals, etc.), and place bridges/tunnels. Then, select as many baseboards as possible at any time, and use one of the auto-terrain features. Then, I flatten out the track areas using auto-height at 0, and add rivers, etc., then colour and add buildings.

It isn't perfect, but it works.

I know there are a number of relief (is that the word) layouts on the DLS, which is a real life landscape generated from a relief map of the area - this has special textures on it showing where roads, rail, water, etc goes.

These would be a big help for this chap, even if it's an American or English landscape, would make life a lot easier. Even a search term would help - I've had no luck on this front despite finding some last time I went looking for an aussie layout...

You could try looking at Transdem here as this program is used to generate real world terrain. Ofcourse there are other programs out there I think which fulfill the same task, try a google search and see what that turns up.
