Do you actually believe that it would be possible to remove the overhead wiring poles etc from that photo in Photoshop? Get out of fantasy land!

Also it was Bwana who posted that, not 3foot6.

signals,

From what I understand, the only fatal accidents in the Blue mountians involving the electric trains were the two Glenbrook Crashes on 16/1/76 and 2/12/99.

All other accidents resulted in injuries and/or nothing at all.

There was also a non-fatal contact between a V set and a container train between Emu Plains and Lapstone.

Thanks gents. I remember the two Glenbrook accidents although they were before I joined the railway. Back in '76 I was a train traveller. I haven't really travelled by train for the past 15 years - not even when I worked in Sydney. I avoid them like the plague.

It's not the trains, I can't stand the passengers (well, those that smoke and, therefore, stink).

Hi Comeng,

You forgot the one at Lawson that killed the driver of the V set that plowed into the rear of the coal train which was stopped fouling the mainline from the loop

Here ya go. Very Happy

Here's some more Glenbrook 1976 pics. I come across a shipload of rail accident pics, so if there are any other stacks you want to see I may have them. Very Happy

And as an added bonus, a bent-up U-boat at Lithgow.

Great Photos. In that way. Not so good about the V Set, or the person killed.

This is a great thread to read. Very interesting all the stuff that happens and we don't pick up on it.

Thanks again

A little off topic but does anyone have info or pics of a late 1975 or early '76 coal train derailment at Medlow Bath?
