Kaine, as someone very interested in what you do at work (for reasons we spoke of today), these are very interesting photos, I'm glad you decided to share them.
It is folks like you and Greg who show us all the nitty gritty behind the scenes that make railfans like myself (blissfully ignorant ones) understand the great deal of work that goes on behind the scenes.
Thanks mate

Nice to know what it looks like inside. Gee they really stuffed the front of the S sets with them dumb blank destination boards.
The Tangaras still look new, I cant believe they over spent on the Millionums, nice pics.

Just had the chance now to have a second look of your photos, (was in a hurry this morning) and I've noticed, we can see a work man taking the shot....

I could tell that was a Sector 1 (Mortdale) set just by looking at it based on the amount of graffiti inside and dodgy cleaning jobs. I hope that set was not put into service looking like that!
Every time I catch a Mortdale T or S set on the East Hills line it usually seems to look like that.

I dunno - you could think of it like that, but why are the Hornsby sets that I get on the North Shore line so much cleaner than most of Mortdale's sets? Surely the people out west can't be so much tidier than the passengers on the Illawarra/Eastern Suburbs, East Hills and other lines Mortdale sets run on?
While I'm complaining about the cleanliness of Mortdale sets - at least I should commend them for their sets being more presentable externally - at least compared to those Flemington silver sets which have tags all over the front which seem to sit there for some time before being cleaned off.
