This morning on the DOWN siding at Epping were three rail tractors with a couple of flat wagons. Saw Freight Australia on the side of one.
Anyone know more about them?
Cheers

I would say the line will be handed over soon as the NSWFB have been onsite several times in the last few weeks, Fire trucks from surrounding fire stations aswell as other officers presuming they come from Alexandria by the cars.

There is still Tempory Fencing surrounding Maquarie Park Station & now there is signage, hopefully the Iemma Government will open the line soon.

I found at a website a notice indicating a trial of the Epping-Chatswood line by a diesel rail motor. There were a few similar notices that have been canceled that would have been for trial of the line by a regular passenger set.

Platforms 1 and 2 at Chatswood are now very close as well, i expect the pollies may wish to have a grand opening of the new line with a flash new Chatswood station in the background instead of a construction site.

From Asset Management's Possession Configurations 2008-09 schedule, the ECRL is due to be handed over on Monday 8, December 2008, following the Northern Shutdown on that weekend (6-7 December), and not due to operate passenger shuttles between Epping and Chatswood until the Sunday 22nd February 2009, between the arrival of the two Queens (Victoria & Mary).

Hehe, we've been told that the new signalling panels should come into operation in September and October however the ECRL will remain disconnected from the panel until late November or Early December. The training on the simulators for the signallers has alreaday begun and we get to operate the old North Shore, North Sydney and Epping Panels until the new ones come in and we get completly confused because the Panel will be back to front. Must say it does look like a good system though and the entire tunnel is bi-di and held at a regulated temperature., and the tunnel looks great from the inside and pretty completed from what I could see.

Noticed this morning that external signage for "North Ryde" has been begun to be fitted into place at this station in amongst the building work....

Starting to look like a Cityrail station and not a <complete> bulding site....
