The Bacardi Express has been delayed at Gunnedah for 1 1/2hrs and will be arriving at Moss Vale at 11:00 a.m.

If it has been delayed at Gunnedah it is going to be later than that.. You mean Goulburn?

Police taking their time are they?

It was already 2.5 hours late at Gunning, or to be more accurate, the Crookwell Road bridge between Gunning and Fish River, where I left at 0930 after expecting it through at 0700+/-.

As my luck tends to run, as soon as I got onto the old Hume Highway towards Fish River, the train appeared having passed the bridge less than two minutes after I left. It looked OK at the other planned locations.

It lost more time on Cullerin Bank, where 4490 was either shut down or demonstrating a very clean exhaust.

A couple of shots are unsharp from the passing shots at Bredalbane where we were somewhat taken aback on seeing an almost ideal motorcading vehicle, a glossy black Eurocopter "Squirrel", complete with a gyro stabilised remote control camera turret.

The fact that it was flying at about six metres above local ground level made it quite obvious. Some of the presumably official Bacardi footage will include two startled Gricers at Bredalbane.

It only spent about ten minutes or so at Goulburn, since we went straight to Murray's Flat and only waited there about 15 minutes.

Leungy has posted some views at http://www.railpage.com.au/f-p1014047.htm#1014047.

Having looked at the Bacardi website, I would think that the bands might have been taken from the train at Goulburn in order to be in Wollongong in good time for the gig there.

The train was so late that the Wollongong show would have been at risk, given the need to move on to Sydney for a later show.

I'd imagine an hour delay would be able to be accepted, but three hours would be a problem.

Why weren't three or more units on the train? The Country Music train, only a little heavier, usually has three units.

Surely the hire of a helicopter to photograph the train and the cost of advertising graphics would have greatly exceeded the cost of the train hire!

Were there other commitments for the 442, 43 and 42?
