The last time I was in Tailem Bend, the Murraylander was still there in shiny yellow with red lining. It hasn't gone anywhere (quite literally).
A locomotive painted for the train, but almost never used, has been repainted, but they have (somewhat bravely, in Yes Minister terms) taken two 900 class to restore as motive power.
B80 wasn't "the Murraylander", it was a CFCLA locomotive that was painted yellow once.

B80 was overhauled and painted in "The Murraylander" livery by WCR, not CFCLA. I'm not sure if it was ever used on the train. It was then hired out on the standard gauge to various operators and at some point recieved West Coast Railway lettering covering "The Murraylander" logo on the sides.
CFCLA purchased B80 along with the rest of WCR's operational bulldog fleet (with the exception of S302) in 2004 and moved them to Bendigo in January 2005.

I know B80 once came to melbourne with a yellow pass train. B65 and another WCR train met it in melbourne and ran a train to bendigo. From memory it had something to do with people trying to find work or vice a versa.

It is difficult to know who owns what locomotive, and who is leasing them and from whom. Quite early in CFCLA's history, they indicated how many locomotives they owned and it was many more than were in their colours.
While WCR and Great Northern certainly owned some of their locomotives, particularly in the early days, I think some locomotives in these companies' colours were owned by CFCLA before the two organisations failed financially.
I think CFCLA owned most of the Bluebird railcars and may still own them.
I have no idea when they first owned B80.

I think you will find that West Coast Railway owned their locos right to the end.
