Thread split from an Oily train thread

Let's not talk about this please. The ARHS ACT division need to work on this, and are we wanting to help or hinder them ? Yes I have has communicaion from them.

This incident is a matter still under investigation both by the society and ITSRR. Please do the society a favor and hold off any discussion until such time as the factual findings of the investigation have been concluded. The crew involved do not need their reputations tarnished by uninformed slander on a public forum.

If you can help, PM Dthead. The thread is not locked but we will view any useless post very seriously. If in doubt run it by me( dthead) first.

I happened to be driving back from teh airport at 5am just in time to hear those beasts roar to a halt just behind the CSR depot on the other side of the line from Hardley Normals.

Speaking of oily and shunting, rumour mill is that two volunteer drivers 'burnt' out one of the 73 class when they took it to shunt the oily and didn't check that it had coolant in the motor and ran it for two hours.

The ARHS Canberra members must be spewing that one of their locos is ftked by two of their own members.

I heard this from a pac nat driver who said one of these people also works for them.

Perhaps Duff or Dave can confirm.

peve, seems they don't want to confirm it but it is true.

Up at Mount Victoria steam weekend last week it was being talked about by people who know the story, so D & D must have been told they can't speak about it. The names of the two people who were reckless with the loco also came out and that the safety regulator knows and there is a report happening.

Just a simple statement without opinion.

The report is now with ITSRR, with the authors recommending it be made public to avoid rumour and speculation. (not on this site surely)

So we only to need to sit and wait.

peve.
