I have just seen the Safe Notice detailing the removal of the Electric Staff system of Safeworking on this section. The new system will be Ordinary Train Staff and Ticket.

Due to the poor condition of the line route and the inherent safety risks involved with maintenance and fault correction the section Bungendore- Queanbeyan will be converted to “Staff and Ticket Working”.....

SN788

So we now have:
Joppa Junction to Tarago = ETS
    Tarago to Bungendore = ETS
    Bungendore to Queanbeyan = OTS&T
    Queanbeyan to Canberra = ETS

Isn't this bizarre. What do they have against train orders?

The other alternative would be to consider the whole part from Joppa Jct to Canberra as one long section with only one train on it at a time.

More to the point, there is often more than 1 train between Canberra and Goulburn at the same time.

Then you couldn't do it without rescheduling so that didn't happen. Is there really that much traffic on the branch? I thought it was just 2x exploders and an oil train per day. First time I've ever heard of a rubbish train.
