Well arnt you just so clever dave here i am talking wagons and you bring up steam loco's Rolling Eyes well der they have always had Tyres and Wheels and they are not Gibson rings now are they.
Go hassel someone else dave or i will start following you around the board like you do to me sport..hey hows that 73 going.

Where's the paperwork you were going to find? I used Steam locos as they are an obvious example of gibson ring wheels still in service. I also had a look at the PN train inspection training course and they even feature in it (and I suspect the wagon maintenance manual, I haven't had a chance to check yet). I don't think they would be in there if they were banned, it does state they are being phased out.

BTW, if you think I'm following you around here you really need to get out more, I picked you up on a statement I know was wrong, just like I would any one else.

Not 100% sure but I think the former BHP PT wagons - Austrac EQAX wagons may have been the last to have Gibson rings, they were phased out when several of the wagons were retired and the bogies and wheels were swapped over, they still have several registered without any mention of the rings.

I've heard a rumour that Elzorro in there hunt for more rollingstock for the Warrnambool service. Found some ex NSW well wagons up for sale. They thought they would be alright but now beleive that there would be problems with the Geelong tunnel. Hence they will not buy them. Unsure what the problems are but have to wounder if it could be the sharp tip of the hill.

Drink Red wine by the BOTTLE its good for you and grow hairs on your chest. Beer is nearly as good. Rogie. Rogie.

Haven't they been to SA yet? The 'old' Western Mining flats would still be around Dry Creek I reckon.

Mate, if that loco pulls as hard as you do, it'd move anything.
I'd still rather have an ALCo.
