I am working on a layout of the Hurstbridge & Epping lines, instead of all those wonderful curves I am making straight as you would see in the Signalling Diagrams (SD).
I am using the SD from around the 60's & 70's as most of the good yard where still there then, as well as the line data from Vicsig web site (that's where I got the idrea for the straight line) I am only putting in what you see in the SD.
I have track work almost finished, I have been doing some high speed runs to find faults with the track and I have leaned some things.
A full size train going at 323kmph (TVG) (about 200mph) is not a good idrea (it failed to take the bend (the only one) between Ruthven & Clifton Hill, it ended up about where Victoria Park Footy ground would be)
And 60kph is to slow
On the up side with the TVG you get to Meldourne from Epping in about 3 to 4 minutes (If you survive the bend going into Clifton Hill)
The main problem is the light signals, the semaphore are not a real problem, because in trainz the befult light signals are listed as signal001,signal002 and so on it tells me jack.... weather they are home, distant or what ever
Can any one shead some light on this problem
thank
Peter M

If you are using TRS04 then read the signalling diagram.
Otherwise you could had just laid out each signal on the track and worked out from the light positioning what type of signal it is
IIRC 001 L001 002 L002 004 were the home signals
and 003 L003 and 005 were autos

Okay:
Staggered lights = auto
Vertical lights = home
Red/Red: Stop
Red/Yellow: Medium Speed Warning
Red/Green: Clear Medium Speed
Yellow/Red: Normal Speed Warning
Green/Red: Clear Normal Speed
Yellow/Green: Reduce to Medium Speed
Green/Yellow: Next signal is 3-position, showing clear or warning (from 2-pos area)
Yellow/Yellow: Next signal is 3-postion, showing warning or stop (from 2-pos area)
Homes protect:
Stations
Sidings
Signal Boxes
Level Crossings
Junctions
Use Auto signals elsewhere.
