Not Creswick, Kyneton, Carlesruhe, Taradale (or any Melbourne - Bendigo station), Bacchus Marsh, Lara, Drouin, Nilma, Tongala or Darnum (or any Longwarry - Yarragon station).

Darnum station was lowered substantially as part of the regrading there.

Grovedale? I thought that was only the down side though.

Not Creswick, Kyneton, Carlesruhe, Taradale (or any Melbourne - Bendigo station), Bacchus Marsh, Lara, Drouin, Nilma, Tongala, Darnum (or any Longwarry - Yarragon station), or Grovedale.

The latest was certainly one of the regradings, and one which is still in daily use, but apparently is little known. The older alignment was visible quite clearly until recent years, and may still be quite clear. However, it wasn't my nomination (AFAIK it was in only one direction).

A rambling next clue: The regrading was done as part of depression relief (but which depression?). There are at least two depressions where the government response was to give sustenance relief by offering pick & shovel work. There were also roads built this way, including the famous Great Ocean Road. Still, the legacy lives on.

Sorry folks,
With no green squares showing, I forgot that this one was still on the boil.
The sought station was not in the red, blue or green wtts: it was in the green one.

I am overseas, but getting enough internet cafe access until Wed.16.7 evening, then very vague.

I hate working from internet cafes.
The lengthy answer was just deleted,
so have the corrected version of yesterday's answer:
Not red, blue or grey; definitely green.
At the time: the tracks in each direction were regraded (IIRC to 1 in 100, but I can't check now); the station stayed put.
Today: The track still carries trains, but the station has been closed.

I am gambling on access tomorrow, and possibly every 3 days thereafter.

I am at a slow cafe, but at least access. I will be in this cafe again on Friday night.
The station sought was between two sections of a bigger project which had four or five sections, undertaken as depression relief work.

Stawell?

For those of us without access to WTT's, Western and South-Western District is the green timetable.

Not Stawell. It meets most of the clues, but not the one that the sought station is now closed and demolished.

This cafe is very slow. I can't guarantee access tomorrow night, but I should be online within 72 hours. If not, please have the patience to wait a little more.

West and South-West is pretty flat aside from the Pyrenees on open lines and the bits around Stawell I know were regraded in the 1930's - based on a photo or two from that area showing the new work. So it's now demolished, not closed?

Stab at Armstrong?
