I am quite sure that today was the first run of the refurbished Xplorer car 2502 which was on todays late running Northern Tablelands Xplorer sighted at North Strathfield at 11.05

I apologise if this car has already run in passenger service

Edit: 1979 was there with me as well and will probably have a better shot

Good catch H1, looks like it was on the Armidale half. How late running was it?

I know that on the down journey the Armidale half is at the front and it detaches at Werris Creek from the one up to Moree. On the return trip, does the Moree set attach to the rear of the Armidale train or is it v.v? If it is the latter than there would be a chance for someone to get a shot of it tomorrow.. otherwise, it would always be possible to photograph it in the Armidale to Werris Creek section on the tail Razz

That black space up the top there looks like vacant space for a desto sign.

Is it?

Its just a blank area the way it was designed. Yes you could place on in there if you really wanted too, but it is more designed for looks (As the yellow inbetween where the fog lights are and the windscreen used to be black).

Very nice photos, looks so nice and shiny.

It was reported as being on the Country End of the Griffith set on Saturday and Sunday.

Nice photos gents.

We crossed this bloke just south of Murrurundi, and when he came up the straight towards us, I thought it was an XPT that took a wrong turn at Maitland as I was unaware of any Xplorer cars had been repainted.

That's awesome, thanks for putting those pics up guys. Looks a bit out of place at the moment, but there'll be more to come soon I hope.
*Selfish Comment*: I hope there's some EB cars done soon so they can go on the Canberra Xplorer during October. We're looking to do Floriade again. Laughing *End Selfish Comment*

Any interior shots yet? And how is the refurbished Endeavour set travelling?

Wait until someone gives feedback on the "Hardish" new passenger seats!
VERY hunter/oscarish firmness.
Not AS hard as the Cityrail stuff, but when sit down you definatly sit ON them!

It seems having yellow up (front) (top) for visibility and attention grabbing might be the beginning of a trend on rolling stock. (Insurance companies, I understand, make it know that yellow coloured vehicles are involved in the least number of accidents...)n

In this instance the use of yellow is both comely and attractive. It is a much better result than the colour hitatus on the front of a VLP Sprinter Question
