With all that work, CCS25, will be very welcomed back into service. Is there a repaint planned as well for CCS25, in its green livery? I wonder what she would look like in the same shade green as M4/M5?

Over the last weekend, C22 was pulled out of the roundhouse at TTMS and some shunting took place to position the C into a location that allows easier access to the pit and hence the fiddly bits under the loco

Called into DRR today, CCS 25 tender was still being worked on. Poor X4 badly needs a new paint job, and put under cover. It has really deteriorated this year.

Besides that nothing much else has changed in 3 months.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but what I saw today was definately some sort of preservation happening. Confused

Around 12:00 today (Friday 22nd), University students studying at Inveresk were briefly interrupted from their studies by a loud rumbling noise coming from something passing outside.

Normally a truck or a Mowbray bogan on a motorbike would be responsible for unusual sounds. But today we were all pleasantly surprised to find that the source of the sound was coming from Launceston Tram No 29, up and running about under electric power courtesy of a power generator trailer. The volunteers at the LTPS have done a superb job on restoring the tram to it's former glory, with its beautiful, bright paint work and timber paneling.

Didn't have my camera with me unfortunately, and my camera phone is pretty dodge, which is a shame. Great to see the tram up and running, no all that's needed is some more track and some electricity wires. Very Happy

I looked in the latest Railway Digest mag, a nice shot of tram 29. I remember seeing it, not far off being finished in 2001.

I wonder if it will be out and about on Monday, when i'm up there at the tram sheds?

The annual COTMA (Council of Tramway Museums Of Australia) conference is there this week, so it was probably being tested in advance of/being displayed as part of that
