Great shots KR. I love these sort of 'slice of life' series that people like you and 42101 put up, and the night scenes add another dimension again

Good photos , thanks for posting them .

I always preferred night-shift , less annoyances around , especially away from the Metrop .

Cheers...

Wow! Those are some top shots KR! I've gotta' agree with Rai and Bwana, that shot from Enfield takes the cake! I also quite like the one as your coming into Hornsby with the spark but all together these are some awesome Night Shots.

Cheers for the insight Well Done

Absolutely marvelous shots KRviator. Enfield shot is great as well as the cab shots of the screens. I never knew the 90 class had such an "electrical screen" displaying all the speed and fuel of other locos in the consist! Also a very interesting shot taken from T401 of the 8 second time lapse.

Thanks for the comments all. I'll see what else I can dig up here out and about soon...

Not quite a full glass cockpit setup unfortunately. FuelMiser was a FreightCorp initiative to allow you to isolate and/or shut down trailing locomotives from the leading cab. Most times it doesn't work, but on this occaision, all three loco's were operating proplerly. Probably the only unit in the fleet like that. There is only one physical screen, switching between the two being done with softkeys below the screen itself.

Both the 82's & 90's have FuelMiser fitted, as do selected 81's, though how many actually work is another story. I've never seen photo's of the system on the 'net so thought as I liked seeing the in-cab & screen-based shots before I was on the job I'd get the photo's out there...

Something else I've learnt since I've been here is both the 82's & 90's had the option of being outfitted with a complete glass cockpit from the start, instead of "just" the fuelmiser screen, but FreightCorp decided against it. Pure madness in my opinion. The 92's will have a full screen-based layout.

For those who've never seen one, here's an overview of the Driver's side of the 90 Class cab. Or is it an 82 Class? Can't remember, either way they're identical...You can see the FuelMiser panel on the lower right of the photo.

81/82/90s - the CD player in the silliest position available, at least they're fitted though!

Cheers

The only 82 classes fitted with fuelMiser's are Southern Coals fleet. Their system is a lot better then the system on the 90 classes, it gives you a couple more options plus you can monitor few more engine components.

The way you can tell your shot is a 90 class, Brake cylinder pressure is 500kpa , third round gauge from the left (82's are 350kpa) plus the fuelMiser screen, not on Northern Coals fleet of 82s.
