The SBS late news presenter wasn't wearing a jacket the other night and it must have been cold in the studio... enjoyable watch.

Having a radio background, I know they use "Compression Microphones".

The Compression Microphone has great tone altering characteristics.

On a side note, the NBN guy really annoys me with his fake deep voice!

Now on Seven and Nine, there's new early news bulletins:
* Seven Early News - 5.30am to 6am with Natalie Barr and Mark Beretta. Fillin is Simon Reeve.

* Nine News Early Edition - 5am to 5.30am with Amber Higlett.

Dont' watch them if you want really serious news you'd expect at 6pm or if you dislike cross-promotion. Apparently there were heaps of crosses from Seven Early News to Sunrise and "what's coming up on Sunrise". For Nine News, it was Qantas and Today Show promotion.

Maybe not a presenter, but a reporter none the less (does that count?). Seven's Aela Callan is quite easy on the eye...

Anyone is counted. Rumour is that she's leaving Seven...that was announced on The Morning Show I think. Wait and see - maybe more info later.

Seven News Perth is seriously losing out. It's lost Yvette Mooney, Reece Whitby and now Mark Gibson, who may move to A Current Affair Perth. That leaves Seven News Perth with only Rick Ardon, Susannah Carr, Basil Zempilas and Jeff Newman on the weekday news being the "most recognised". Without them, Seven Perth is seriously in trouble now with their experienced faces leaving. Also noticeable is the fact that Paula Voce isn't presenting that often anymore despite the fact she was weekend fillin. That's now gone to Emmy Kubainski.

Also rumours going around that Coren might be going to Hong Kong to join CNN. If that's true, well...I won't comment on that. Laughing Hopefully a new presenter will mean more indepth news and current affair items.

EDIT: In fact, yes the Daily Telegraph reported on Coren's disappointment with the recent cases of Chain Stunts, The Chaser and the Mercedes Corby case and indeed is looking to leave Today Tonight to join CNN:

Yes Aela finished with 7 yesterday. She has gone overseas so I'm afraid we won't see her on our screens in the near future.

Channel Nine has just axed two of their news programs: Sunday and Nightline. Sunday is to be replaced by Sunday Morning News, running from 8am to 9am, with simple news updates throughout the evening, similar to Seven's on Monday to Thursday (Seven has a half-hour Late News bulletin on Fridays at 10.30pm for non-AFL cities, and at 11.30pm for AFL cities such as Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide), to replace Nightline.

Nightline's final bulletin will be tonight, with Sunday's final program being 3rd August.

http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2008/07/25/1216492715040.html

So that means that presenters such as Michael Usher and Ellen Fanning will be placed in a different role on the network.

She is doing some stuff for Seven there and then after the games she is staying in China, but not for Seven. (This is what they said on Sunrise the other day)

CNN correspondent perhaps, like many Aussie reporters.
