I note that on the ARTC website that 5910 will be making an apperance in sydney this weekend, she will be running a tour to Moss Vale on the Sunday. Does anyone know how long she will be in Sydney for, as i cant find any time for her return to Corwa

Or a very long extension cord.
Methinks typo, 5910 is nowhere near running, needs a new firebox.
5917 is the loco in this case - not operated by NSWRTM, instead LVR.

It's been cancelled, actually. And 5910 isn't going anywhere without major fiebox work, one of those 'light her up with no water' incidents.

I thought the story was the fire was started, then put out quickly by the driver after some emergency at the depot. The rapid cooling did some damage to the metalwork of the firebox - cannot confirm or deny, just what I've heard.

Heard the same.
Boiler lit; water levels checked and found to be lacking...Fire extinguished by non-standard procedure, resulting in damage.
A bus is a glorified toaster on wheels.

Interesting to note that RC hasn't posted an STN to this effect.

May be a bit early for RC. It is, however, interesting that ARTC are yet to show any TAA that would actually get this stock from Cowra to Sydney.
