We once had a message of the VAS that told to to evacuate the train. We were still moving rather quickly though.

It was the 6:57am Caboolture to Bowen Hills Express train.

This train is CityTrain #T920 ex-Nambour, and is usually a IMU.

As of recently (boarding from Elimbah) IMU160s has been becoming more frequent on this run, so the VAS is normally in use on this service.

I heard on the scanner that PNQ Intermodal #87P4 was having a few troubles on the near North Coast and that another PN Class locomotive would go and rescue the train. Naturally, I went out to investigate and got a video of a PN Class long-end leading through Dakabin.

This morning QR 3716 headed north to Jilalan on a very late running #YU39. Here is it passing through Dakabin. Luckily, the train was hauled by a very clean QR 2813 in Bronco/Corporate livery.

Dropped some people off at the station for the tilt this morning. Had a bit of time to kill so I went inside for a look. As well as the tilt on platform 1 there was an empty AC passenger train parked on platform 2 facing south. No locos attached.

It was a full train, dining car the lot. Power car was still running. It had obviously been used, beds unmade etc but no-one around it. Door on the subway was locked so I couldn't get over there.

Anyone know the story?

Waiting at Oxley station this morning. A 1720 class loco with 2 short flat container wagons with a Lander passenger coach in between passed through the station. A few minutes later, the overhead wire and track geometry thingy passed through as well.

I saw that this morning heading through Normanby, while I was on the ICB. Although, when I saw it, it had gained one lander car, as it was marshalled: 1720-flat wagon-lander car-lander car-flat wagon.

Thanks, Pete.

I saw that geometry machine as well, although I didn't see any other cars with it.

I also heard about a PNQ Intermodal (#82P5?) having a few troubles just north of Gympie the other morning. Something was reported to be 'leaking' from the train. Details were quite sketchy so I can't share any more. Someone else may know more ...

I have been told that the 3800's have made their maiden revenue trip to Moranbah North as train ET98. 3802 is leading 3801, with 3803 mid-train.

Thanks, Pete.

Headed into River Fire this evening and then joined a few mates from some drinks in the Valley. We caught IMU 165/176 back home. The air-conditioning ensured that the wonderful smell of carrot, tomato and some form of bourbon was spread evenly throughout IMU 165.
