Hi there

Not Cudgewa.

Rod, you were in the correct WTT district with your Echuca answer.

Cheers

I was quoting the name from a red wtt; directory of stations called the same place Charlton Cattle Siding, and showed it having only a sheep race.
It was 800 m on the down side of Charlton station, so I am not sure which side of the river it was on (Vale of Avoca Hotel was on the down side of the bridge). Since you weren't awarding Charlton, it can't be this one.

I have discounted major north-west location A: the sidings were an independent nest, but not approached by a single lead from the main line, and junctioned at a point where a staff lock wasn't required.
I have discounted major north location B: the siding was a long one, parallel to the running line, on the down side of the station. A staff lock was required.

No fresh entry, I am researching other projects today.

Hi there

Seems that no one knows the answer to this one.

The correct answer is Donald Freezing Works Siding.

I don't have anything to offer at the moment, so i suppose it is open to anyone to post a new question/diagram.

Cheers

Nobody wants to take up the open offer. I wouldn't (I prefer to be quizmaster when I win, not by default), but I came across this one while researching notes for a different hobby area. I drew it at a club meeting, from whatever was being offered on the overhead projector (no Powerpoint then). Melbourne is to the left. My guess is that what seems to be obvious is true: PL = plunger lock; AL = Annett lock; GS = goods shed.
It is frightfully generic, but the subtle combination of double-slip location and turntable location might separate it from the multiple siblings.
Since we have waited for 10 days with zero movement, there should be no panic if this one stretches out.

It is great to have Marcus back in the fold.
It wasn't Cressy: the turntable there was at the Melbourne end, down side of the tracks.
I haven't cropped anything from this one.
I have travelled there by train, but didn't make my own sketch in the field.
