Shocked thats odd. Unrestored loco's that had NO protection at Thirlmere suddenly require guards. Confused

I suppose permission can be obtained to go in with an employee.
Unless its changed since i had a guided tour in there back in 2003.

Was there an STN for this movement from Chullora to Broadmeadow?
Still looking but no luck yet.
Cheers

Not that odd when you think about it. The movement was bound to create interest and Chullora is an active yard. The guards would be to keep gunzels out of chullora rather than protecting the rolling stock as such.

Not to mention the fact that Chullora has a completely different demographic compared to Thirlmere Cool

At a guess I'd say that SWT5 & VHO1816 are in the consist to provide braked vehicles. The SWT & the VHO will more than likely return to Thirlmere with 4916.

Just for the record the other rollingstock's numbers are
TRC31299, HCX868, HFA1032, VHO1816, SWT5 and the rear unit was a KL
