The Eltham Model Railway Club is holding a small scale display near our clubrooms over 8 & 9th November 2008.

It will be supporting the Eltham Festival Weekend and admission is free.

At the moment we wil have our "Murranbilla" on display, as well as a OO & a N gauge layout. Possiblly a Hon30 and a On30 may also attend.

Some more details:

Will any remnants of the old built-in club layout be shown? Or is there not enough left?

Presumably one of the stations could have makeshift stabling yards either side?

Happy Chanukah!

The old club layout is scattered to various members. I have Henty and the remains of Broughton at home. None are transportable or easily made workable.

Henty is still in the exact same positon as when we put it on top of the old "Somereton" Baseboards. All that has changed is the dust & cobwebs

Broughton only has the track "preserved" with no scenery. It's stored on the other side of the garage.

Do come and talk to us on the open weekend about the old layout - we still miss it, especially trh operating sessions.

David Head

And I have "ownership?????" of what remains of Elbridge - stored under the house of another member. It's in a similar state - covered with dust and making a great home for a considerable spider population.

All -

A reminder that the Eltham Model Railway Club's Open Weekend is now getting close.

It will be held on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November at the Old Eltham Bowls clubrooms, corner Bridge and Susan Streets Eltham, Victoria (diagonally opposite Bunnings.) Open from 10am to 4pm both days, and ENTRY is FREE.

Signs directing you to the venue will be clearly visible from the street.

Our award-winning layout "Murranbilla" and a few other exhibits by local modellers will be on display.

This event is for the benefit of the local community, and supports the Nillumbik Festival on the same weekend.

All welcome........

Well two days to go, and I am sure you will enjoy our open day.

As well as Murranbilla, we have other layouts comming.

* OO gauge layout
* suitcase N scale layout
* Magnificant On30 layout, compact and super-detailed.
* HOn30 layout also well detailed

Only the suitcase and Murranbilla have been seen before, the two Narrow gauge layouts - well it is their debu.

On Sunday we will see the operational orientated Twigg or LeefyBay.

And some modelling may be done as well.

Food & drink would be found down at the Eltham Festival on the ovals nearby.

We hope to see you if you are not chasing train up to Albury !!

Regards,
David Head

Frankston's got an exhibition on as well! Three different direction, only half a day to do it in (since I'll be in Albury on Saturday)...

Ah well.

Easy start at Frankston, and on the way to melton stop at Eltham. Or via the BG line to Wodomga to watch the special race through......

Tonight will be a long night for us as we all set up the club Murranbilla layout and lend a hand with the others as well. Good training for a exhibition you may think Smile

I like that thinking! Very Happy

Sounds like it, fortunately we're doing it on a slightly smaller scale, but it'll be good training for the MMRC also. Very Happy
