Been taking a break from the trains (Bought a couple of nice ships to build instead).
Anyway, have developed a bit of an LNER fetish:
I have to say that the detail on these locos is just superb. Hornby have certainly come a long way in the past 10 years.

Today I took delivery of some freshly painted Auscision RQIWs, and some Auscision 20 foot containers.
And with the containers added - I got all of the colours, more Patricks than others, and leaving some room for Toll ones when they come out:
And therefore, for the first time, the introduction of these wagons makes history as the first ever prototypical train I have ever run on my model train layout. 
They are a bit clean and the gray is light, so I plan to make them very dirty with weathering. As the wagons are so good, and I've never weathered before, I'll be using a $2 wagon perhaps first as practise first, and then start on the RQIWs. This will probably take place during the school holidays.
There's no white steps and "release" and number decals - after all, you can barely see them if you will weather them heavily.

The RQIWs you have - were they originally undecorated Auscision ones?

Thanks guy's.
Bigwato I got that at his concert at Revesby RSL earlier this year. The wife doesn't like it so in the shed it went.
Albert just waiting on the 86 class to come out(Auscision) and will have the whole collection. I have an ILM 86 that I haven't painted yet.
alltrainzfan getting there slowly. A big layout for my first go. With work and sporting commitments plus entertaining a 2 year old + another bub on the way you could say it's all go-go.
That's only one shelve you can see as I have two and need another 2 or 3 to fit all my loco's on. As they say "Rome wasn't built in one day"

I finally received my sound equipped Garratt # 6040 last night...... WOW the detail is awesome
This is the first model with sound I have ever owned and definately won't be the last.......
