1.Change oil, filters Engine not running, check

3.Oil and coolant levels
4.Leaks, holes and connections
Battery and charger (semi-annual)
1.Load, acid and specific gravity
2.Corrosion cleaned
3.Charger output (adjust if necessary)
Fuel system
1.Leaks, water, sediment checks
2. Day tank – float switch pump
3.Governor linkage
Coolant system (check only)
1.Antifreeze, radiator and cap
2.Leaks, hoses, belts and tension
Intake and exhaust (check only)
1.Air cleaner, turbocharger, muffler and traps
2.Leaks
3.Breather, flex pipe, rain cap
Generator
1.Diodes, end bearing, brushes and folder
2.A.C. wiring, exciter stator, over speed switch
3.Breakers
Controls
1.Voltage regulator, wiring relays, monitors and bulbs
Transfer switch
1.Time delays, exerciser clocks (adjust or reset as necessary)
2.Clean cabinet
Engine running
1.Record A.C. output
2.Frequency
3.Amps under load
4.Instruct owner

Hi All,
I forgot to add that Amtrak remotored some of their old Alco RS-3's which turned them into RS-3M's. They got mostly EMD 567 motors but kept almost everything else, they did get a new body shape which can be seen in the below link.
