my website is updated:
www.aust-n-rail.com.au
Key news
NSW 45 class is shipping, these are very nice!
Preorders for NSW 48 class being taken. Delivery prior to Christmas.
Preorders for GJF/VHGY/VHGF now being taken. Expected March 2009.
Preorders for 20 ft refrigerated containers being taken, as seen in Australia.
We are also working on a RTR VR S class loco, with NSW 42 and GM to follow. The S should be available mid year.
Cheers

Hmmm, no doubt the S will look good. Everything so far has been great.
Now that I'll be building a small layout in N scale, I may just find the justification to lash out on a few items... A nice series 1 T class and a rake of Bs and GYs would be a nice start.

D'oh, always the way, N scale stuff is on the rise in a big way, and I've committed heavily to HO! Not that I would've considered N scale, but that list is pretty tempting.
Can't wait to see the S class, though, should be good! And well done, too, the more N scale Aussie stuff there is, the better.

Its great to see the Aussie stuff in N and O taking off. Hmm the space saving advantage of N, and the super detailing abilities of O... As above i am too deep into HO to turn back now, but its a good scale to work in IMHO.
If i was super short on space N it would be however.

Just when Aussie N Scale starts to hit its straps, we're already in too deep in HO to change. Guess we'll just have to keep negotiating ROW for our empires with the local Minister for War and Finance. |
Too right!
That's it exactly. Just have to push our luck, huh, and hope for a "Capital Increase" for an additional gauge...

The ladies think N is "cute", I've had a lot of ladies try to convince their menfolk to do N, I think visions of large layouts and a lot of space being reduced come to mind... of course the menfolk are still imagining the same space, just more rail road!
Cheers

Steve the G/BL, T1, 45, 48, S are/will be available painted with or without a mech.
The G/BL and 45 are currently also available as unpainted Polyurethane kits.
The T1 and 48 are available as etched kits. They may get re-released in urethane, but certainly not this year.

i never actually built any of these as kits, I wonder how much a prototypical length rake will cost...

Well I've seen plenty of pictures of a G loco pulling just 5 VHGY, but I reckon 10-15 will look good
