At Sydney Terminal today I saw some trackwork going on opposite Mortuary Station. They were laying Concrete sleepers on the line down to Darling Harbour. I just caught a glimpse of an NDTF wagon which I have never seen before. What are they used for and does anyone know what's going on down there?
Could not find a thread on this so go easy if there's one.
Cheers

It's currently used as a storage location for trackwork machines (rail grinders etc)

Laying sleepers to once again allow 3830 to travel to the house of power where it will be boxed in for good. Not a bad thing either

Sit here next to No1, better stored indoors instead of a open air shed.

Have seen them down there in previous years. I believe that obtaining a path to enable a transfer from Eveleigh would be quite difficult, unless done during the nighttime
