Back onto Current PNL NR's. A combo of NR45(PN*)/NR29(First unit ever in PN)/NR73(Same paint as 29)/NR54(Trailerail)/NR27(IP) are stuck in Kewdale and should be heading out soon

Q4004 check your facts before you post I told squeeky and he went down to Kewdale and there wasn't even a lash up like that there!
In the yard was NR71, NR29, NR45, NR34, NR49 and NR116
And NR54 and NR73 went out on 6PS7
And NR27 was on the IP
Don't get the people of Perth excited by posting untrue stuff on here.

I was sent what looked an official PDF document today that had paint schemes for Ghan, IP, and Overland NRs (along with the SS scheme) all of which looked like a variations of the SS scheme.

If I can get the OK will upload and post a link, but don't hold your breath.

I got this same PDF a while ago myself, Its going to be a Sh#t to see the Ghan livery go to White.

My poor old NR109 is the first Ghan to go under the Brush Crying or Very sad

Cheers, Michael

What? So all the IP and Ghan NRs are to be repainted? Is it a modification of existing liveries or a complete different design?

Yes 4464, there is a growing collection of them in the back roads of APT.
They look rather nice (as a minor change from the norm)
None have had the side signage done though, maybe they will start to be applied now the Loco has hit the rails

Cheers,
Tony

Wee bit off topic but there were a couple of these coaches on the Ghan last Wednesday. Shame they had a few coaches between them, would be interesting to see two of these coaches next to eachother. The hatchet handbrake has been moved on these cars to the side, painted white and a yellow end step added.

G'day,

To answer your question kafoopsy, Yes all Ghan and Indian Pacific NR's are going to be painted into what GSR call there "Modern" Livery.

Also as we know, AN3 also shares the Ghan livery and there is word going around that she will be be stripped of that and put into PN* with AN5 and another AN. Wink

Back to the topic of latest repaints, I got 3XW4 the other day with a grubby NR52(PN*) doing what it does best blowing sh#t everywhere with NR1(PN*).

Cheers, Michael

What why would GSR modernise the IP and Ghan liveries they are excellent and stand out in the NR fleet cant they just leave them as they are they are fantastic and are colourful in combos on freights and passenger trains.as for AN3 i will be so pissed off if it goes into PN colours, i've been chasing my heartout to get it in the Ghan livery but failed so far. its sad though ah well if they have to modernise The Ghan and IP liveries us railfans cant stop them for changing their minds. wonder if they will do a Overland livery on the cards for some NR locos. Shocked

SCT G's and EL60 Octagonal best combo on freights!!

It is a shame they're going to re-paint The Ghan and Indian Pacific Locomotives. If you see them heading to Brisbane, please let me know!

Another AN eh? Are they overhauling another AN at the moment?

Is there firm information on this or is it more speculation ?

I could not see them painting loco's that are still looking good. it is just not good business sence.

Many of the drivers up this way that I have spoken to say that the ghan livery is one of the easiest to sight in all conditions.

Well who are you to say its not good buisness sence? If you read the post correctly they are not getting rid of the Ghan livery its going to be a modified version so the name will still be there, Don't see that being a bad business plan...

P.S Not everyone on this site talks Bullsh#t and guesses everything that happens and thinks they know everything...
