Weekend at Blacktown (Photo's)

Hi team i spent the weekend doing tamping between blacktown and Seven hills with the big mainline tamper (CAT 09 Tamper,big regulator,Dynamic track stabiliser machines so here are some random pics.
All pics taken today7/9/08

under 1kph mate although on plain mainline track it can tamp 1.5kms of track per hour all going well we were doing a recon track to start today, so it was slow and steady with bulk runs up and back till it was back to normal condition.

Trent yeah yesterday we were soaked to the bone and i was that cold i was still shivering after a scalding hot shower and heaters cranked to full in the flat damn near was hypathermia...trackwork anyone Evil or Very Mad

574M Chris that shot on the flyover was taken while on the move mate i just snapped away while sitting in the spare seat looking out the windscreen.
The Shaker simulates 100,000 tons of traffic going over the track to bed it in so they no longer need to put speed restrictions on after doing a track recondition or a tamp.
It grabs the rails lifts a bit and vibrates the hell out of everything including us standing on the ajacent track, look at the sleeper edge and you will see the ballast looks a bit funny that ballast was moving while i took the shot on vid it would show it moving. Cool
