Ended up at Ringwood only 4 minutes late - good effort by the driver regarding all of that, since a Comeng isn't exactly the fastest Hillydale train on an all stations run.

More or less depends on dwell times at stations, I'd say. The time table has been well and truly tightened up.

I could hear the horn before I could see the train

As I was walking back home from Rosanna Junction after snapping some photos , I could hear its horn as it disappeared around the bend towards the tunnel , I heard it go through Heidelberg and some faint distant sounds for about 4-5 minutes after that. The last faint sound was a very long blast that I assume would have been at the ivanhoe level crossing , amazing how far sound will travel if the breeze is comming from the same direction of the sound source.

EM 100 normally has a 3 month cycle so I would expect it again around early December.

It has already done alot of the lines once and is now doing "Driver Training Runs" and is not recording alot of the time.
It was supposed to come through Gardiner Monday Morning but never made it and today was supposed to be going to Pakenham, Cranbourne and Racecourse if I remember correctly.

It had gone through Ormond (Frankston line) heading towards the city around 10:40am. Thankfully my bus due at 10:37 was late else I'd have missed seeing EM100, and everyone jump when it blew the horn at the level crossing - it really is one loud horn for such a little train.
