And an AWESOME day it was - the others [including those Victorians...] are probably still at Central YHC having dinner!
Thanks must go to TheLoneGunMan for driving an old noisy bus up there and tolerating all those berluddy gunzels, the staff and volunteers of RVR for putting on a great show for us, private carraige, photostops and all; and Maikha for putting the whole crazy thing together!
Photos and the 'Maikha trying to fire SMR30' video coming soon!

I tip my hat to Maikha for organising all this - it was not only a great day had by all but also raised a tidy sum for the museum.
We saw parts of the museum complex not normally available to the public - and my thanks to all the museum volunteers for making this day a great success.
Can't wait to see everyone's photos.

Hi Everyone,
Now this is from the bus drivers point of view, the group were absolutely excellent, except for a little bit of rubbish in the bus, I'd have no problems at driving the next Railpage Australia™ tour! A whole lot of thanks should go to Maikha for organizing the trip and the Parkers for supplying the bus a big thank you to both. To Richmond Vale, I can't talk for everyone, but I did have a fantastic time there and look forward to getting the membership application in the post.

Rightio, for the full works on yesterday.
$1136.20...
is over how much we raised yesterday, all going directly into Richmond Vale Railway Museum.
Firstly... I am quite pleased that yesterday's outing went off in one word, Perfect! The amount of people aboard the bus and showing up at Richmond Vale exceeded all expectation I had when I came up with the idea to do this trip. More so, the financial benefits raised by yesterday's visit was very substantial and was seen first hand in how it will benefit the museum.
An address by Richmond Vale Railway Chairman Ray Hennessy told us that the money is very much equivalent to a day's running costs and will also go towards the restoration of a non-air coal hopper. The day started off with $810 to be handed over to the museum, and with many donations and the running of a raffle aboard the bus, another $326.20 was gained even before we entered the gates at RVRM!
Firstly, alot of people to thank for the success of yesterday, as without their contribution, the trip wouldn't otherwise be perfect.
*The Volunteers of the Richmond Vale Railway for their willingness to host us, and provide their 110% for us to have a great day, to which we did! We were provided with not only two return trips (And 6 cabrides which we could raffle off), but several guided tours of Pelaw Main, Richmond Main (Carriage works and locomotive depot) and the former mining facilities, as well as a specially chartered BOB Car and rail shunter along the Mulbring Rd branch, oh and a filling catered lunch!
Special thanks to Richmond Vale Railway's Richard Kiejdas who I've collaborated with the past three months to get this outing happening. Also thanks to RVRM Tour Guides Graham Harper and Judith Higgins for their assistance on the day, the crew of SMR30 (Driver Bob Pritchard, Fireman Paul McDermott and Guard Rick Howarth) and the BOB Car charter (Driver Graham Bearman and Guard Frank Bennett). Additional thanks go to Liz Meddows, RVRM's Canteen Manager for going to extraordinary lengths in catering for our large group on an extremely tight budget, and successfully doing so!
*The Parker Family, who supplied us with the bus to get us up there at a very discounted rate. They too have been more than helpful in all the requirements needed to achieve this trip. Special thanks to our driver yesterday, none other than Railpage Australia™'s own TheLoneGunMan, who was very professional in getting us there and back.
*Raichase, for being a great offsider, in looking after everyone else and the trip when I was too busy running around organising stuff, or needed some assistance with something.
*To all who came along, your financial support to the museum you saw first hand, will go a very long way to ensure the continued survival and operation of not only the railway, but all the museum facilities. Same to those who contributed additional donations and entered the raffle.
The success of yesterday's trip has set a high precedent in future Railpage Australia™ outings, which we hope will generate more enthusiasm and interest about the societies we visit as well as much needed funds for them.
Soooo..... about that society down in Albion Park
Cheers
Maikha
