Yes emdCLP17, unless they're fitted with a mechanical or hydraulic transmission. All diesel electrics have a genset fitted.

Why did they cover the control panels for? If they didn't want them to be used they could have just disabled them and tagged them, then again I shouldn't question a managers thinking!
I think emdCLP17 was referring to stand alone genset for train power not the traction package.
Mate, if that loco pulls as hard as you do, it'd move anything.
I'd still rather have an ALCo.

The Caterpillar Oman label was the dead give away.
Give me till Friday to get a photo up. I'm having some trouble with my camera at the moment (merely dust).
