It seems to me looking from Victoria that NSW is short of one effective Government
I never make mistakes. I thought I did once, but I was mistaken.

Matt Brown WAS the Police Minister. He has been sacked after 3 days. | And justifiably so it would seem. To do what he allegedly did with Noreen Hay shows extremely poor taste. There are better looking pollies than her . Even Robot Reba is better looking.
Those comments are in poor taste I know

Yeah! it sort of makes you wonder about the future, Nothing Reece & Fats Walla, go out on the trains yesterday, & then the popositions transport spokeswoman Gladys Goabble mouth stands in front of the cameras & goes through the usual round mouthed peel.
If someone, anyone is out there in government land that is in anyway capable please put you hand up, & if you can actually speak & say something sensible that can give us a 1% degree of confidence then lets call an election.

Guys I said
".. that NSW was short of one effective government"
It is the government that are supposed to be running the state.
I can't comment on the opposition as I don't read much about them.

John Della Bosca comments on Costa's departure
| Quote: | NSW Health Minister John Della Bosca says it is "sad" that Mr Costa is leaving public life regarding himself as a "failure".
Mr Costa said on Monday, "I've always said politics was a modern Greek tragedy, it always ends in failure ... and I can say my career has fulfilled that adage."
...
Asked about comments Mr Costa made in his parting statement about "the amount of stupid decisions I stopped", Mr Della Bosca said that was "Michael's theatrical way". "It's his way of describing some of the biggest debates that happened within government and around government," he said. "I'm sure Michael will publish a very interesting set of memoirs and we'll find out what he's referring to at some stage." |

In case anyone missed it, the Ryde by-election was a route for the Liberal Party.
| Quote: | LABOR strategists believe a 2011 state election win is virtually impossible after the biggest byelection swing in postwar history.
...
The Premier conceded yesterday it was a "shellacking" after the 22 per cent swings against the Government in Ryde and Cabramatta at the weekend, and a 12 per cent swing in Lakemba. "I don't believe it's impossible; I don't believe anything's insurmountable or I wouldn't have put my hand up for the job, but there's no question it's a big ask," he said. "Yesterday's byelection results are nothing other than a shellacking. There's no other way to sugar-coat this but the message is very clear to my Government, my leadership and my new team' and that is: 'lift your game or else!' " |

| Quote: | THE Liberal Party won its first seat from Labor in Sydney in 20 years at the weekend by unseating the ALP in Ryde with swings of up to 29 per cent in booths that had a high ethnic vote. The Liberals won the support of Chinese and Korean voters in booths that overlap some of the territory Labor had taken from the Liberals at last year's federal election, when it picked up the former prime minister's seat of Bennelong.
...
The Liberal Party won a majority in every booth of the Ryde electorate, overwhelming Labor's grip on the seat. It had wooed many local leaders, particularly Korean and Chinese representatives, and had placed numerous advertisements in ethnic media. Among the sizeable swings to the Liberals in booths with a large ethnic vote were 29.3 per cent in Marsfield and 27.6 per cent in Eastwood Heights.
The party's success in wooing the ethnic vote could serve as ratification of game plans it could invoke to beat Labor at the state election in March 2011. It could also serve to erode one of the longstanding strengths of the Labor Party: its ability to galvanise the migrant vote.
A lawyer and former Ryde councillor, Mr Dominello, 41, is expected to be sworn in to Parliament on Tuesday week. |
