Yeah, I know, dont they look smeg! Us weekend crew thought they were going to put a proper concrete path through. We should've known better!
There are plans afoot for 1002 to be repainted, possibly in the original two tone blue with white lines and red bufferbeams

There was no costs to the Don Railway for the construction of the new pathways.
All costs and associated work were met by and carried out by an outside organisation who supplied the materials and labour.

Gday All, longtime lurker, first-time poster.
I curently live in WA but will be heading back to Tassie over Xmas-New Year for some leave. I was wondering what activities are possibily taking place at DRR, DVR & TTMS around this time. I have fond memories of trains in Tassie. During the very early 80's I lived on the Yaxley farm at Don Heads right next to the rail line. I have great memories of the trains passing & proceeding across the Don River bridge, aswell as the DRR across the river, hearing the whistle and smelling the smoke from the steamers. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Sam

Like most of the population, a lot of the volunteers also use that time of year for a break. I suspect it will be standard scheduled operations at both TTMS and DRR, and with DVR unlikely to be operating at all.
If anything does crop up, it will be listed at http://www.railtasmania.com/pres/mltrips.php
Regards,
Stuart

DRR will most likely run the summer roster with one of the 'big' diesels to supplant the steam loco. If we're lucky we might have a steam loco going, but I wouldnt put money on it.
As always, the DRR will be open 7 days a week except for X-mas day.

Gdyay all,
I know that the DVR isn't doing any runs for the moment, just wondering if it is still open to the public, and if so what times.
Thanks in advance
