luznug, what are you trying to do?
Did you come here to make friends or enemies?

Cause if your trying to make friends well, it isn't quite working.

Friends or Enemies. don't care either way.
But crap like this is the worry in Australia with Trespass.

Common Sense is something being eroded from the Australian Way.
I have camped beside railway lines for many many years.
But after the last twelve years under Howard, we seem to have become a parnoid bunch to say the least.
I will continue to live my life breaking the laws of trespass, while most having a go at me will continue to break other laws no doubt.

Time to make a tiny concession to the mentally challenged...

I do agree with that statement. And I'll be the first to say there are fences that don't need to be there, I'll even say if there isn't a fence 20m is a ridiculous line to draw, about half that would be sensible.

With that said, camping within the corridor is not necessary and is a stupid idea on a number of levels - if I was planning to be unconcious for a matter of hours I wouldn't choose a spot where:
- You're going to have big noisy things going by
- idiot vandals like to hang out - you don't think they'd enjoy tormenting you or bashing you up for the fun of it?
- you know full well it's illegal to be there, and
- trackworkers could turn up at any hour, wake you up, get you arrested or simply drive straight over you.

It's rarely a long trip to the nearest roadside, where:
- it is legal to camp
- more people will see you if you end up in trouble
so why not just camp there?

Few people mention this here, but if you injure yourself in the corridor, for example by tripping on a pothole, the infrastructure provider can be found responsible. They have insurance for if this happens to the hairy leg brigade, but they can't get it for the GP because they can't predict how many there will be, how much attention they'll be paying to their own safety and how intelligent they'll be. That's why they don't want you there, and it seems like a fair reason to me.

I am SO moving to Victoria Street!!

Some yes, some no. Don't generalise.

Firstly if you purposely break the law, you will get yours. And I hope they throw the book.

You make such an ill educated guess that everyone else is breaking laws. How do you know this. You are that educated in the fact that you KNOW everyone has broken the law? I can well believe that a lot do. But again your immaturity is shining through in the fact that once again you are generalising.

Can I suggest you take your tough kid attitude, and grow UP. Having a general discussion is a good thing. This is a forum, it is what it is for. But please, find something more constructive to do in your school holidays. Save this kind of behavior for the school yard.

Also doesn't encourage people to think for themselves, let alone take responsibility for their actions with such overzealous cotton wool treatment.

I can hear the symphony swelling to a heart-stirring finale, as the true crusaders for justice, luznug and doridori arise to save the unthinking masses from their ignorance and squalour.

Gimme a break!

To be honest, I don't think Luznug actually camps on the side of the railway as he somehow miracolously gets to use a computer. He's probably just come looking for trouble and Luznug, you don't find trouble here, sorry.

The lock is on the shelf waiting, but for now we all dearly want to hear from a certain poster on this subject - for some reason he has stopped posting. I wonder why ?
