Try not to fall off your chair.
(I did, and I now have a nasty limp...)

Yes, I've just noticed Austrains have updated their website (finally).
Some of the links don't quite work however, and you have to go back on your browser rather than hit the 'home' button.

Photos of the DL's and C35/NN's have all been put up, as is the latest newsletter (dated for October -still, a day early is OK).

www.austrains.com.au

There are still a few things missing -such as no Y page, (y?), no photos either of the Great Northern T's although they are there on the order form.

Warm regards,

Toby

No sign of the mentioned 'end platform cars' page either...

It's quite nice - very colourful with all these new glossy pictures over the front page and various other pages with green.

The newsletter has been updated slightly from the original October 2008 newsletter sent out by post.

This brings Austrains, Trainorama and Auscision as the most recently updated websites. Eureka Models and Powerline still awaiting..

Comments from the Yahoo Aus_Model_Rail group indicate the snailmail Eureka newsletter has started to arrive this week. So a web version might just be on its way too.

Thanks for posting this. I nearly sold my beloved Candy 8015 in the mistaken belief that I would be able to buy a new one in the re-run. Disaster averted!

Shocked

Well that WOULD have been a disaster. 8015 was the first Australian outline model I ever owned, so it has a special place in my collection too.

You never know, one of Powerline's secret unannounced BIG projects might actually be an 80 class designed to undercut Austrains' range.
Hey, if it has detail equivalent to the T, I might even get it (as long as it's done in Candy)

..ok, I'm being silly I know.

I'm just wondering whether or not it's even worth asking them at the Powerline stand on the weekend about just what is the story with the website??

I would put money on "it should be there later today" or similar as the response, based off past experience - it's the perfect answer to anything.

I wonder why Austrains has never advertised their Y on their website. I remember them saying once there weren't as many orders for it as hoped, so the quantity produced was reduced. Maybe there just aren't enough to advertise? Thoughts?
P.S. What do you think about my idea to custom paint my 3 C class into AN green and yellow? (I didn't want to start a whole thread on such a topic. I expect to get thoroughly thrashed on this one.)

That's what I figured. It was just a thought. By the way, is your Putfile working correctly? I can't upload photos any more.

I have the same problem (tried using it for the NGPF photos) - my support ticket remains unanswered also.

You could always paint the Cs in Candy! Twisted Evil No ... I was joking ... seriously, please don't! Razz

They don't respond quickly to support tickets, but eventually, they will. It's just frustrating.
I've already painted my new Auscision EL's into Candy, so maybe that's a better idea. Very Happy
