Hi All,
Does anyone calibrate their monitor ?? Do you use external software, or a calibration tool like Spyder 3 ??
I have found that either my monitor ( CRT ) or my printer ( Canon MP 610 ) is out. Makes for frustrating results when printing
Can anyone help, give suggestions ??
Cheers
Cris

Cris,
Have you tried the calibration tools that come with the canon printer?
Cheers

If you suspect your stinkjet printer, shove a photo onto a USB stick, take it down to your local Officeworks and print it from the Kodak kiosk (or Share and Enjoy machine as I call them). Best 25c you ever spent.

I'm pretty sure its the monitor. I use SnapFish online printing ( the best BY FAR for prints - great service ) and also occassionally my printer, and both ways the prints are a little "washed out " - lacking saturation and often a little bit over exposed after I've played with them a little. Yet if I just convert from RAW then print they are not as bad, but I would like to get them " just right " . Difficult if what I see and what I print isn't the same thing.

Those CRT monitors certainly look different with photos compared to the new flat screen monitors...

Sounds like you are 'jerkin the gherkin' Michael! I'd stick with proper calibration. If nobody messes with the settings, it 'should' stay calibrated for a couple of months at a time. Maybe, dump the CRT monitor (if there is one).

I have found the Kodak machines are rather patch quality wise - they have a dinky little dye-sublimination printer in them IIRC. A number of Harvey Norman stores use big Fuji minilab printers - the print quality I have gout out of those is much better.

Yeah, you should probably get a calibrator for your screen.
