Hi All,
I heard off the railway grapevine that there was a fatality at Engadine last night. I male jumped off the footbridge into the path of a south bound Tangara traveling at track speed. The male person hit the Tangara and went through the drivers front Window with the force breaking both the 2 glass and perspex panes. I was told that when he went through the window, he collapsed the top of the drivers desk and landed partially on the driver.
From the Terrorgraph.
Man dies in train suicide after leaping off rail overpass

A TRAIN driver was injured when a man jumped from an overpass and smashed into the front of a passenger train in Sydney's south last night.
The city-bound train - with 15 passengers on board - was nearing Engadine railway station when a man leapt off the overpass into its path at about 9.30pm.
The driver could not stop the locomotive in time to avoid the impact and crashed into the man, who died instantly.
A NSW Police spokesman said it was being treated as a suicide.
The train driver suffered minor injuries and was treated by ambulance officers at the scene, along with eight of the passengers.
Ambulance officers at the scene said the train driver may have decreased speed before the accident, which may have caused his injuries.
It is not believed anyone was taken to hospital last night.
The train stopped about 100m from the platform and police and transit officers had to help the passengers off and escorted them to the station platform.
Police established a crime scene and the platform was closed off while they investigated the fatality.
The police spokesman said they were last night trying to identify the man, so his family could be notified.
The man's age and where he lived was not known last night.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
A RailCorp spokesman said replacement buses were brought in to transport passengers between Sutherland and Waterfall, as police conducted investigations at the railway station.
