Would anyone know how to merge 2 or more routes together using Mike's Route Riter??? I have been trying to merge Russell's Melbourne to Seymore with Footscary to Ballarat route and Russell has tried this as well and it seems that we are having the same problems "Read more about this at http://austmstsworkshops.freeforums.org/is-it-possiable-to-merge-or-rebuild-t286.html

If anyone has successfully merged 2 or more routes together show us how you did it either by writting it or a simple pictured tutorial, or let us know where there is an english tutorial on doing this

Your help will be greatly appreicated

Regards Phil

Hi Phil,

Otto has successfully merged several routes into the Marias Pass route and 3 Chinese routes were merged to produce one route about 1800km in length, so it can be done.

However, as stated in the RR Help file, both routes
1. Must not overlap
2. Must pass the TsUtils integrity test with no errors
3. Must be at same altitude where they meet (easiest if DEM data has been used).

It is not easy and most routes contain errors in the first place, and you really do need to know something about the local tsection.dat file structure before you even consider doing this.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply. Now I see why Russell's routes "Melbourne To Seymour & Footscary To Ballarat" didn't merge as there were afew errors such as the terrain didn't match and the track, I have tried to rebuild Russell's routes with his permission but sadly they failed Sad

I honestly didn't know about that ARG706. I was told at school to spell it that way. Sounds like I had some dumb teachers Laughing
