what do you mean by this question Hurstville1?
IRA don't own any 44's, they do lease some and none carry offical names.

Well, the ones they lease anyway (from Hunter Valley Railway Trust I gather) and I'm pretty sure each loco has an unoffical name etc; One is named Pricilla(the Purple and Yellow one)

I'll nominate three names: Shifty; Nifty, and Quick.

yes 4488 when purple had the unoffical name of Pricilla but is no longer purple or on lease to IRA. This the only one of the 7 44's that had a well known unoffical name.
4458 the green one I have heard as being referred to as the 'Frog'
4461 the red one heard as the 'Robin'
4463 & 4472 both candy and called names that can't be repeated here
4498 as its fitted with gas as 'The Stinker'
4497 never actually heard any names for this one

4472 has always been my favourite from young age since I first liked Flying Scotsman and seen the number 4472 on as well it to I like. I like that diesel to now. And I like that picture of the two 4472's running together when Scotty was over here.

These appear to be unofficial type names or nicknames which are pretty dreadful.
By comparison, CFCLA name their main line locos after Racehorses.
