Does anyone know if SCT run a North South as well as the East West and how often their trains run?
I heard they only run pallets or do they do container stuff as well?

They run two services:
- Melbourne - Adelaide - Perth
- Parkes - Adelaide - Perth
At Melbourne you do see containers, usually 40 footers, some normal boxes, some refrigerated, and a handful of flatracks with wire mesh on them, or other weird loads. I've seen caravans tied down on flat wagons as well.

But I did seen 2 SCT G Class going like a bat outta hell through Thornton (Newcastle) this morning...
Have SCT hired their G's to QRN for their MB jobs?

Not quite.........
The Parkes - Perth (GP) is direct via Broken Hill and Port Augusta.
There is usually a service from Adelaide to Port Augusta which meets up with and combines with the GP service and vice versa.
(The meet has also been at Coonimma outside Port Pirie at some times)

SCT run on road on the Melbourne-Sydney-Brisbane corridoor because they can't market a slow service to their customers. They are known to have a preference for rail (due mainly to its lower cost per tonne-km) and will transfer their north-south freight to rail as soon as it becomes competitive.

SCT still have a truck run from somewhere in the Adelaide Hills cause I sometimes see there truck travelling up and down the freeway.

Woolies regional bulk store is at Monarto South, hence the trucks to there

I just got the latest RD magazine today, and it contains a spead on T414. What Im interested in was that fact T414 was hauling SCT wagons to Manildra. Was this a one off, or a regular service SCT are operating?

Just guessing, but wouldn't it be a trip working from Goobang to Manildra and back to pick up Manildra products heading for Perth on a GP1 service. If so it would be operated on an as required basis.

If so, its nice to see SCT using rail to run these sort of feeder shuttle survices.
Will probably be corrected, but here in Perth the only feeder shuttles are from the various chemical facitlities in Kwinana to Forrestfield to make up the daily train to Kalgoorlie.
In a fanticy world, if guage wasnt a problem and the traffic was there, it would be great to see companies like SCT running feeder services to Bunbury and even Geraldton.
Back to the realy world. Not knowing much about SCT's NSW infrastructure other than having a depot in Parkes, but why dont they run all the way to Sydney?
