Id say Ilfracombe except I didn't think it had a big sports ground but then remember the rivalry between Longreach Infracombe and Barcaldine in old days so maybe it does nowadays

Apart from that I dont think any other station on the Central line fits the bill
My clues are track upgrading to 90t locos with 1 in 4 steel sleepers- welded rail and fairly well maintained line, sheep yards, but the location of the loading bank is strange as where are the yards if the sports ground is right next door?

Ilfracombe is the location. Shot taken September 12, 2008.

It is a bit surprising to see such a sports facility in a town the size of Ilfracombe but that may be a dividend of a Sport & Rec Major Facilities Grant and some good local support.

Well done Gredge!

Thats why I discounted Ilfracombe, because of the size of the sporting complex verses the size of the town.

Ahh well, ya get that.

Cheers

Ok I will have another go at posting a photo for you to guess

Taken in the 1980s when there were plenty of EE locos all over the state and you could still travel on wooden coaches on trains.
