I have a CFA map from the 1991 ESMAP book which shows the path of the dismantled line. Can't remember if there were still people that were unsure where it went (eg trying to trace via land.vic.gov.au parcel boundaries), if so then let me know and I'll scan it. The scale is 1:50000 and the map style is similar to the RACV/Vicroads country directory. If there's already an equivalent quality map then disregard.

thanks! That map seems to confirm that most of the right-of-way is visible on Google Earth.

Hi Rowan,
Thanks for sharing that, it is very interesting. Do you have any more maps like that showing disused/dismantled railway lines around Victoria?

After much research, I surveyed the Lancefield-Kilmore line yesterday, surprisingly there is quite a bit to look at, including platform mounds, culverts and many cuttings & embankments. Well worth a visit. Here are some pics of each station site, more to follow featuring other remains when I get time......
Lancefield passenger platform:
Mount William station site, looking towards Lancefield:
Goldie passenger platform:
Springfield station site (beyond tree, in front of the shed):
High Park passenger platform, looking towards Kilmore:
Forbes passenger platform, facing Kilmore:
Kilmore (pass platform in middle of pic, under the two trees):

Thanks for that, however I was looking more for some maps with roads on them, so I knew directions for exploring old lines.

thanks drwaddles, may I say that the landowners were very generous and supportive with letting me enter their properties to conduct the survey.

Basically any. Around Dayesford would be great though.
