No!! That's the job for the Mildura line.
Bring the 3900s back to Brisbane
Bring Karlsruhe Tramtrains to Australian cities
Extend the proposed Metro to Taylor Square
Extend the Gold Coast line to the Tweed

While Jim certainly had some brilliant ideas for running a train service, he unfortunately overlooked what motive power he should have been using.
His financial skills and brillance has only been eclipsed by the share melt down that all bear witness to at present.
The brilliant design in hidden's Zero Emmission Steam Locomotive had been overlooked by Jim and sadly no partnership developement appears on the horizon. If only the Green's had picked up on this concept, it would have made them totally credible.
The mear thought of a Gauge Zipper, brings me to my knees, only howling with laughter after I had a pie, washed it down with beer from the keg while sitting on a milk crate.....
Yes....DT & Drwaddles, there are Crackpots and Idiotic Crackpots, but these 2 are Brilliant Idiotic Crackpots!
Sadly, the concept of this thread appears to have failed as the posters it was meant to capture have continued to pester us with their bizarre questions in other threads,....well I tried....I just refuse to lower myself to their mentallity by entering into a question posed by them.

Why not save time by not stop trains at stations, but slow down enough for you to disembark at a brisk walk pace. This would save huge amount of time across the network.
Better still, why not run it without passengers all together. Passengers only mess things up, slow it down and wreck the furniture. You'd save so much on wear and tear, and cleaning costs. You then won't need a new ticketing systems, and also you won't need authorised officers or a lot of roles in head office. I mean, think of the savings. Then you could reduce the length back to three cars, thus you can run more trains, nor will you have people falling off Flinders Street Platforms, and the trains could run on time. And this one time, at band camp.........
Far more sensible idea, it worked a hospital with No Patients on Yes Minister.

The point being is that most of the holes in most of plans proposed here is simply that they are unworkable. The closest workable one I could find was:

Real suggestions I think on the other hand, particularly in the SA forums, just seemed to get slammed by other boffins on these boards. Unfortunatley, for every one or two plausible options, there are 10,000 crackpot ideas. At least this thread allows those to be shared, such as a rail system with no passengers. Suprisingly, it seems to work well. Check out all the lines which have freight only on them! Leigh Creek to Port Augusta, Pt Augusta to Whyalla, Loxton - Tailem Bend, numerous lines in NSW, and I'm sure there is a few in Victoria, like the Long Island Branch Line off the Stony Point Line.

My dear witsend,
I am please to read your latest offering (however trivial it may be) and am glad to see that you have seen fit to post to this thread in the fashion that it deserves.
Your idea to run trains without passengers has merits, I believe there are some trains known as freight trains doing this as I write.
On the other hand, to suggest that a passenger train could be run without passengers, is in my words, purely brilliant. Management must approve this idea as there cannot be any complaints from the passengers about late running.
Just think of it, ever train on time 24/7.
It certainly is one of the better crackpot ideas to have graced this tread.
May others learn from your experiance and suggest other similar ideas, which without, out lives would be rather boring.

An idea with a bit of merit.
What about electrifying the line from Kiama to Bombaderry with light rail vehicles and extend the line as light rail into Nowra.
Bring the 3900s back to Brisbane
Bring Karlsruhe Tramtrains to Australian cities

I have searched all the Victorian Railway Lines Maps and don't seem to be able to find them. Perhaps, they are a fictious places and your pulling our leg? Can you confirm that these places exist?
