You could say that Phower, but usually the Murdock Times is pretty right with their business news though! It is just news in general that you cannot trust to be right, The Advertiser seem's to have a bit of dislike to all thing's Rann!

Good Morning,
There has been no mention of a Heavy Rail/Light Rail service from the New Adelaide Airport Terminal to the CBD.
Is there a possibility of a service that runs to APT then to Adelaide some where, and preferably not on or in the middle of the current road system.
Any thoughts?
Regards,

Easy - no, or not without land acquisition.

I'd argue with current fuel prices, the airlines are doomed in the amount of time to construct said railway.

The Gunzel in me would like to see a bit of underground railway in Adelaide to complement the trams, trains and traintrams.
Bring the 3900s back to Brisbane
Bring Karlsruhe Tramtrains to Australian cities
Extend the proposed Metro to Taylor Square
Extend the Gold Coast line to the Tweed

Um luggage? It's clearly been some time since you were in Adelaide, we have buses that are near enough to express from the city to the airport, most of them run with little more than the driver arriving at the airport, most passengers board and alight at other locations along the route.
Most ex airport passengers (ask any cabbie in any city) aren't going to the CBD, they go direct to their hotel. When ever I fly to Melbourne or Sydney I never use rail or bus transport, for starters I have luggage and secondly a cabbie will take me direct to my hotel, which is often not near the major CBD tram/train stops from the airport. Significantly quicker too.

Aaron,
My last trip to Adelaide was by plane in January 2007.
I was picked up by a Relative at the Adelaide airport.
The reason for my trip was to attend my Fathers funeral.
I caught a train from the Central Coast NSW early am and travelled to the airport, changing trains at Central.
My return was by Taxi from Parafield gardens, which broke down between Pt Wakefield road and South road on the south road extension just past Dry creek.
Fortunately I was lucky to hail another taxi and arrived 15 minutes before departure at the New Adelaide Airport.
After returning by plane to Sydney I travelled on the train again to the Tuggerah Station on the Central coast.
My point being that yes I do know some things about Adelaide, but not everything.
I also know that the Railway system needs a major overhaul which the SA Government is working on, but it is probably 15 years too late.
After living 50.5 years in South Australia I find it very disappointing that most people in the state just want to run it all down. Best way to attack the situation is to ask for change and keep asking for it until it happens.
Ask the people who get stranded at APT, or who do not have a train service to catch from Mount Barker Aldinga/Seaford or Angaston. As far as I am aware there is no Public Transport for people with Wheelchairs or disabilties in these three areas either.
Regards,

Take the route 864 bus to the City, or route 840X (more people would still use these services even if a train via that dog of a railway line was available)
Take the bus to Noarlunga Centre and the train to Adelaide.
Take the bus to Noarlunga Centre (every 15 mins) and the train to Adelaide.

With the exception of Angaston (which has no proper public transport), all of the places you mentioned are serviced by low floor buses, in addition to maxi-taxis that can fit wheelchairs being available.

That was lucky, Wilfy. I almost missed a flight at Adelaide Airport in May 2007 because I had assumed the JetBus would be on time, but instead at around 3pm it got packed with schoolkids and was running significantly late.
" The trains at Pennant Hills run roughly every half hour. Nobody in their right mind uses a service that shoddy. That so many do just proves how many dumb and/or desperate people there are in Sydney." - MrPC

Have to agree, but not sure if should simple be a 1 or 2 station extension and terminate to make the city more directly accesable to the rail network or try to build a complete through line connecting to the southern suburbs lines.

hahaha, we need a unfeasible projects thread for this one (like the one in the Victoria forum).
Did someone really think its ok to tunnel randomly under major buildings all over the city like that ?
