Yeah well done there. Great Day out. I meet some ARG crews (dont know if they were RP members) even got to sit in the Cab of the Q, They even showed me where the horn trigger is, Great to meet up with Squeekazoid and Kafoopsy at the event. Have a few shots from the Event with The S549 next to Q4016 also XA1402 next to Q4016. Im looking forward too next year.

I had never been to railfest before. And must i say i was very pleased with the event.

The people were great , friendly , very welcoming and full of information. Smile

Even the Sausages Tasted Great Cool

Thanks again to ARG for managing to bring a loco over to show off and for sponsoring such a great event.

Cheers ,

Agree with all the comments posted - Railfest is currently THE railfan event of the year.

Great to see ARG involved again, also thanks to the bus museum for bringing out 2 former WAGR buses.

Another great day, and really good to see so many of the railfan fraternity turn up for the yearly catch-up. Many thanks to the kindred organisations who came along, great to see you all, and also the stall holders who reported doing good business.

Big thanks to 903 and Rocket66 for pulling the proverbial rabbit out of the hat and managing to get Q 4016 across to Bassendean for the day against the odds. It's always great to have ARG attend, and the initiative of the sausage sizzle this year was a much appreciated gesture.

Next year is the 50th anniversary of the WA division of the ARHS, so we might try and outdo ourselves.

Cheers to everyone who came along today, and thanks to everyone who worked hard to make the day a success.

What a fantastic day and a magnificent effort by ARG.

With 2009 being a big anniversary year what are the early plans?

Will ARG be back and what locos would they like to display?

Is it likely that other rail operators might be willing to display something?

Many thanks to all those involved in arranging this event.

A special thanks to the driver/s of Q4016 for being most accommodating.

Yes, very nice: got to sit in the Q Class drivers' seat - could be a little higher I thought...

Good to hear an X Class engine bumbling away once again.

Bought a bit of model railway gear too.

Well done everyone.

The seats are height adjustable via a knob on the base of the seat, must have been taken to basso by a tall driver. Smile

A very good day in my opionion, very friendly staff and ARG crews and lots of great exhibits and stalls. And good on ARG for getting a Q class there inspite of loco shortages!
I heard an X class for the first time at Railfest! ( I started chasing trains just after Hotham Valley stopped main line tours)

Gday all

I would like to share my pictures from Railfest

Screen info in Q4016

Buttons and controls in Q4016

RA1918 still with Full Westrail Orange livery

S549 next to Q4016

XA1402 with Q4016

Q4016 close up. The Q is massive giant when you got up close to it

After Railfest Q4016 is seen running light engine back to Forrestfield.

Let me know what you think of them
