First off im posting it here and not 'Employment' because there no longer taking anymore apprentices, but by all mean's if a mod thinks it will be better in that section go ahead and move it.

Anyway, today I went to the Congratulations BBQ at Central station after I got accepted as a 2009 RollingStock Electrical Apprentice Very Happy

After a quick introduction we where then showed to platform 1 where they had a brand new, not in service, OSCAR waiting that we used to eat lunch, look around and get lectured on how great it was Rolling Eyes (i couldn't help mention that I was on one when the brakes malfuctioned Wink )

After that we got to go on a tour, down to the unused station just above platform 23 and 34. Me being me I found this very interesting, also got to see the tunnels that where upgraded for the olylimpics but we went further then whats open to the public.

Anyway anyone else made it in or tryed out?

The refurbished tunnels are interesting, so is the "extra" section.

I cant believe they still take people down into the 25/26 platform without breathing gear, the place is a ohs hazard.

Yes well done!

Did you bring your family and did they chat to the VERY well informed and friendly driver of the OSCAR? Wink Wink

Jono.

There are only 2 real trains.
The Newcastle Flyer hauled by a screaming 38 class and of course the ever reliable smooth
V-set I.U. (Camshaft type)
