Perhaps when the L/R/S sets start being retired they should set a few aside for this sort of exercise that would otherwise be scrapped. |
WHy not use one of the tullochs that were used in fire training, or as already stated, use one of the scrap cars, perhaps even a mock up of a H set or G set car?

I think I'd prefer to be in the bus.
At least on the bus you'll be blown outside the bus to some sort of refuge if you survive, on the train you'd get slammed into the walls and kept captive within the carriage with all the smoke/fire.
Just remember, it may have with-stood the explosion, but thats even more explosion that your trapped inside the train with

Just look in the 4ft and 6ft at all the (V set) windows that are cracked after having been kicked out.

Oh sorry I was talking about the Tangbarges and all that - in otherwords trains in general, not just the venerable V set. Although V set doors lock now when closed don't they?
Thanks for nothing Costa!

They always locked when closed? Unless the guard releases them for you to open yourselves.
I think some of us speculated on here that the original V windows which have the orange tinting (now very few of them left) were bulletproof, and proved a pain to break open when there was the Glenbrook incident occurred? Can't remember - too long ago...
